Most styles are available positioned off the front of the headrail or off the back of the headrail. Positioning off the back of the headrail moves the body of the shade closer to the window to reduce light gaps, and includes a flat attached valance to cover the headrail components.

Flat Roman Shade

Flat when fully lowered. Battens sewn between front and back of shade to minimize need for hand-dressing when raised.
Front Fold Roman Shade
Battens sewn into front of shade for crisp folds.
Hobbled Roman Shade
Soft folds remain when shade is fully lowered. Battens sewn into backside of shade for stability.
Reverse Fold Roman Shade
Battens sewn into back of shade for crisp folds.
Slouch Roman Shade
Body of shade is flat when fully lowered. Soft folds at bottom hem and fanned bottom hem corners remain in any position.
